01 / THE TEAM

The peoplebehind it.

BWB isn't a brand — it's the coaches, staff, and fighters who show up every day to do the work. Here's who they are, what they teach, and how to reach them directly.

02 / HEAD COACH · OWNER

Coach Bakr.

Bakr grew up in the sport. He boxed as an amateur, cornered fighters in real fights, and built a name in the Bay Area as one of the most innovative, modern coaches in the scene — figuring out along the way that the same attention you'd give a championship-camp athlete is exactly what a first-day beginner needs too.

That's the gym he built. No watered-down "fitness boxing," no gatekeeping for the fighters-only crowd. Bakr coaches professionals preparing for their next fight on the same floor where someone is learning to throw a jab for the first time — and both walk out feeling like they got the real thing, because they did.

If you train with Bakr, expect technical precision, honest feedback, and zero performance. He's not interested in motivation theater. He's interested in whether your stance is actually balanced, whether you're rotating your hips, and whether you'll show up next week.

03 / COACH

Coach Bella.

Bella coaches on the floor at BWB — pads, bagwork, and the technical fundamentals that turn a first-week beginner into someone who actually knows how to box.

She's a regular training partner of Bakr's, sharp on the mitts, and brings a calm, exacting style to every round. Clients who train with her describe the same thing: she notices the small things — a dropped hand, a lazy pivot — and corrects them without making it a thing.

Want a coach who'll meet you where you are and push from there? Email Bella directly, or come find her on the floor.

04 / DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Raj.

On a break — full-time at Stanford

A founding member of the team, Raj is currently taking a step back from day-to-day operations at the gym while he focuses on his full-time studies at Stanford, just down the road.

While he's on this break, anything he used to handle — partnerships, community events, facility bookings, and outside-coach inquiries — goes straight to Bakr. Huge thanks to Raj for helping build the systems that made BWB what it is.
